Format/Equipment

  • Fitness clothes + sneakers.

  • 55 mins.

  • Format is typically: (i) Warm Up, (ii) Dance Cardio for 5 mins, (iii) arms using lightweights and wrist weights for 10 mins (iv) dance cardio for 5 mins, (v) arms using resistance bands for 10 mins, (vi) pure cardio for 5 mins, (vii) arms/back using bands/weights/planks for 10 mins, (viii) core for 7 mins, and (ix) cool down.

Hard AF?!

  • Fun!

  • If you’re not a dancer (I’m not), don’t worry, the dance cardio portion is less dance and more cardio/jumping. The instructors are super welcoming and emphasize that a dance background is not needed-just keep moving.

  • The strength portions are challenging, not impossible. You’ll most likely be sore.

  • The cardio portions are high intensity. You’ll be breathing heavy.

Vibe

  • BBS has a dance vibe. I felt like I was auditioning for the sequel of “Center Stage”.

  • Studios themselves are bare boned, but clean.

  • Lots of mirrors in the studio. Love this, but hated it when I caught a glimpse of myself trying to dance…

  • Very welcoming.

Classified Information

  • Book early on ClassPass to avoid high credit fees.

  • The Chelsea studios have no windows, so be prepared to be warmer than usual in the summer.

  • Regulars in this class. Follow along with them to help with dance moves.

  • Locker rooms, showers, and lockers w/ automatic locks.
