CorePower Yoga - Yoga Sculpt
CorePower Yoga’s Yoga Sculpt class is 60 min sculpting sweat fest that combines yoga and strength-training with a sprinkle of cardio in a 90-97 degree room. This class works the entire body leaving you refreshed, centered, and drenched in sweat.
Fitness clothes + barefeet.
Mats are required. Bring your own or rent one for $2. Towels are also available for rent for $2.
Expect to sweat - the room is heated to 90-97 degrees.
The class begins w/ a “yoga-ish” warm-up and quickly transitions to a weighted workout incorporating yoga moves with traditional strength exercises (like push ups, bicep curls, glute exercises). Yoga Sculpt concludes w/ a much-appreciated Shavasana.
Expect short bursts of cardio exercises midway through class.
Heavier on sculpting vs. the yoga.
Challenging - especially due to the heat (it takes a couple of sessions to get used to).
The class doesn’t have a ton of cardio, but your heart rate will still elevate bc of the heat.
The yoga moves aren’t complex.
Sweat Level: 💧💧💧💧💧
First Timers: A week free of unlimited classes (take advantage of this!). Mat and towel rentals are free during this week as well.
Returner: $32 per class.
Packages and memberships are available to reduce the per class price.
The studios are “earthy” and simple. A bit generic.
The teachers are knowledgeable and the class flow is, for the most part, standard from teacher to teacher.
For the specific class I took, the instructor didn’t wear a mic and was hard to hear over the music.
Lots of locations.
Def has regulars.
Similar to FitHouse’s Hot Yoga Sculpt.
Lockers w/ automatic locks and showers, but need to rent shower towels (hate this btw).
Not available on ClassPass in NYC, but is available in other cities.
If you need a plastic baggie to hold your sweaty clothes after you shower, ask the front desk- they carry them in a drawer.
Yes, it’s an intense hot yoga sculpt class.
