Cyc45 is a welcoming beat-based spin class set in a dark room with hot music and motivating instructors.
Fitness clothes + sock.
Cyc45 offers complimentary spin shoes.
The typical class: (i) Six min warm up on the bike, (ii) fifteen mins of pure spinning, (iii) four mins of lightweight arm exercises, (iv) twelve mins of spinning, (v) four mins of lightweight arm exercises, and (vi) six mins of spinning.
Cyc45 bikes don’t have monitors and the class is mostly beat driven with some choreography sprinkled in.
Cyc45 is challenging. Of course, the class is somewhat instructor-dependent, but every class I’ve taken, the class has been difficult, inspiring, and no-nonsense.
Even though Cyc doesn’t have monitors like FlyWheel, it’s not as beat-intense as SoulCycle. Meaning you won’t be totally lost if you’re not a good beat spinner.
The arm sections are hard (i.e. not a break).
Sweat Level: 💧💧💧💧
First Timers: N/A
Returners: $22 per class.
Packages and memberships are available to lower the "per class" price.
Cyc Fitness has it’s own studio room in the NYSC Lab, but even though it doesn’t have it’s own entire studio, it emphasizes it’s brand.
The classes have current and loud music.
The instructors are super welcoming and encouraging (and fun!).
Not pretentious, which is refreshing.
Studio is located on the left hand side and check-in desk is on the right hand side inside of the NYSC Lab.
Showers and lockers with automatic locks are offered.
The bikes look a little “old”, but they are super comfortable and work perfectly fine.
Don’t miss Elena’s class. She is a killer instructor.
